We had an amazing day in Yellowstone today! We came in the north entrance through the Roosevelt Arch and drove the big loop around the whole park. God's creation is truly awe inspiring. It is amazing to me how the terrain and landscape can change so drastically from one mile to the next. Huge mountains to flat prairies, lakes and ponds to waterfalls and geysers! We would be driving through a forest one minute and then there would just be a wide open plain with steam rising out of the ground. At one point we were driving around curves up high in the mountains and it looked as though we would just fall off the edge of a giant cliff. The Mammoth hot springs were really cool and of course Old Faithful was a highlight. The kids got a little bored during the 50 minute wait, but it was definitely worth it! The Yellowstone lake was gorgeous, and all the waterfalls were beautiful. The standout the day for me was when we walked out to Inspiration Point overlooking the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. That was a breathtaking view! Also the bison and the elk crossing the road was cool, I especially like the elk. Bison are not the most beautiful of creatures! I also spotted a few moose and a chipmunk.
