I pronounce that Rocker Mom

One of Merriam-Websters definitions of rocker is
: in a state of extreme confusion or insanity <went off her rocker, and had to be put away.>
I think that about covers it!

I am a stay at home/ work at home/ homeschool mom. And this is my life!

A Day in the Life

I am the opposite of organized. I despise routine. I know I need it, and I want my children to have it, so I am searching for ideas to schedule my time more effectively. I found a link on Pinterest for a printable home management binder from Fab N Free and another one from New Bee Homeschooler. I am going to try to put together some pieces from each of these and see if I can get myself together. This is a rough outline of my average day. I need to figure out how to fit in a lot more housework. I realize that my day does not start super early in comparison to most people, but this is EARLY for me!

This is my average day:

7:25 Wake Up, make hubby's coffee and send him off with a kiss!
7:45  Devotions
8:00 Unload dishwasher, put in a load of laundry, Iron clothes if needed, pick up/straighten up
8:30  At least one of the kiddos is usually up by now and says "I'm hungry, can I have breakfast?"
9:00 Wake up anyone who is still sleeping and eat breakfast.
9:30 School- this usually takes about 3 hours, but sometimes these leak over to after lunch.
Some things Require Mommy (RM) some things are independent (I)

12:30 Eat lunch
12:45 clean up kitchen
1:00 Kids take a break, go outside and play
meanwhile...I start working on some of my Etsy orders, answering emails, making any phone calls I need to make etc. I  usually don't get more then 2 minutes of uninterrupted time. I am constantly breaking up fights, putting on bandaids, getting drinks/snacks, and just general "Mommy, look at this" type stuff.  I really need a time that I can work about 3-5 hours a day so that  I can actually get stuff done, and maybe even be able to get some of the new things done an in my shop that I have been wanting to do.
1:30 Kid's Chores / Finish School- Clean their rooms, put away laundry, check the mail (working on teaching them to unload/load the dishwasher, mop floors, etc)
2:30 Study Junior Bible Quiz
3:00 Piano Lessons or practice (Requires Mommy)
4:00 Quick clean up- vacuum, mop, put away toys, wipe off counters, etc)
4:30 Star Dinner Prep
5:30 Eat Dinner
6:00 clean up dinner (usually I start, but don't actually finish)
Tuesday / Thursday 6:15 Take Ralph to Tae-Kwon-Do
6:30 Sit down with hubby
Wednesday 7:00 church
Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday 7:45 pick up from church/ taekwondo
8:00 Kid's Bed-time routine - PJ's, brush teeth, Story, Pray, hugs and Kisses.
8:30 Kids bedtime

9:00-11:00 Relax and spend time with hubby, watching tv, Xbox, movie, sit on the couch with my iPad and check Facebook, blog, etc.
10:00 spank the kids and tell them to stop playing and go to sleep!

11:00 Bed

I end the day knowing that I didn't get everything done around the house that I needed to do. I probably didn't finish all my orders, and there are probably still dishes in the sink, and unfolded laundry in the basket. I know that when I get up in the morning I am going to be behind schedule before I even open my eyes, and that I'm not going to want to get out of bed until 9:00.

I am thinking of trying a monthly meal plan. I would do the major grocery shopping once a month at SAMs, and little trips for milk and produce throughout the month. Has anyone tried this?
